Tim Belote becomes the Junior Varsity Head Coach for the second season, after two seasons as assistant coach on the varsity level. With expertise in all phases of the game, Belote's primary duties while the assistant varsity coach included infield/outfield defense, hitting and base-running.
A graduate of Briarcrest High School, Belote lettered in three sports and garnered awards in basketball and baseball. As point guard for the Saints he led the squad in scoring and assists, while receiving All-District honors his junior and senior seasons. Belote, a slick fielding second baseman, was named All-District during his senior campaign while leading Briarcrest to their largest win total to date. While playing for George Holt's Barnhart Construction, Belote was selected as the American Legion's Post #1 All-Star second baseman.
Following two stellar junior college seasons, Belote continued his education and baseball career at the University of Memphis. Playing for one of the best in Bobby Kilpatrick, the Tigers of that era were always in the thick of the Metro Conference race and received an NCAA Regional berth in 1981.
After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, Belote became a partner in Mid-South Engraving, the family owned and operated business which had become a fixture in downtown Memphis. Tim and his wife Marsha reside in Bartlett with their son Jack, an avid junior golfer, and are long time members of Bellevue Baptist Church.
